Girls had quite a hard time picking between Jesse McCartney and Zac Efron when they both starred in the 2004 WB series “Summerland.” Why? Well, the fact that they were both shirtless on the beach often made the decision rather hard. But, when the show bid a fond farewell after only two seasons in 2005, all we were left wondering is: did the two heartthrobs keep in touch?

Well, kind of. “I actually ran into Zac like two weeks ago,” Jesse told MTV News. “We ran into each other. Literally we pulled into the parking spaces at the same time. We talked for a few minutes.”

And with each of the guys finding phenomenal success in a post-”Summerland” world, Jesse says there’s no competition between them in Tinseltown. “Zac’s a great guy and I’m really happy for all the success,” he explained. “We worked together for two, three years on ‘Summerland,’ and I remember when he came on the second season, he came on as a guest star and people were so impressed that they made him a star on the show.”

The 22-year-old, who recently stopped by our offices to chat about his new music and his flick, “Alvin and the Chipmunks The Squeakquel,” can’t believe how quickly the time has gone. “Yeah, it was along time ago,” he added. [Source]
