Since 2004, the Me and Orson Welles actor has devoted countless hours to Make-a-Wish (“He always makes time for kids who want to meet him,” says a foundation rep), which grants desired to young people with life-threatening conditions (wish.org). “It’s a great way to give back to the kids,” Efron, 22, tells Us.

Make-A-Wish’s Josiah, who suffers from the developmental birth defect spina bifida, met his favourite High School Musical performer in 2008. “Zac signed my brace that I wear to walk,” the 9-year-old tells Us. “He even signed my wheelchair!”
