Zac Efron is reportedly in talks to play Flash Gordon in a new movie. The “High School Musical” star recently admitted that he would love to star in “Spider-Man,” but sources told Showbiz Spy that he is “excited” about joining Flash Gordon.
“Zac is one of the frontrunners to play Flash and he’s making no secret of the fact that he would love the role,” an insider said. “Spider-Man has been done and he doesn’t want to follow someone like Tobey Maguire. Flash would be all Zac and a chance for him to make a mark with his own franchise. He’s very excited about the possiblity.”
Avatar star Sam Worthington has also been linked to the role. [Source]

Vanessa Hudgens took her man, Zac Efron, by hand for a stroll in Beverly Hills Wednesday, March 24 afternoon. Both were keeping it casual by wearing shorts and flip flops on the way to Kitson boutique. Vanessa in particular was wearing white tank top by Wildfox Couture as well as the same hat, sandal and Balenciaga handbag she wore on Tuesday.
Efron and Hudgens have been dating since their “High School Musical” days. Efron said earlier this month that his girlfriend is the one who arranges his social calendar. “I leave all the planning up to her,” he told E!. “She RSVPed to all the parties for us.”
Both have moved on from their Disney star label, starring in a number of feature films. Zac Efron can next be seen on “Charlie St. Cloud” which is planned to be released on October 15 in U.S. Meanwhile, Vanessa Hudgens has “Beastly” on July 30 and “Sucker Punch” on March 25 next year. [Source]
Brand new stills of Zac Efron from this upcoming movie, “Charlie St. Cloud,” have been added to the gallery. Enjoy the pics!
While out supporting the premiere of his new movie Greenberg, Dave Franco was asked about working with Zac Efron on “Charlie St. Cloud.” Franco plays Sully, one of Charlie’s friends. [Source]
Zac Efron said “no thanks” to drinks offered to him March 13 at Los Angeles hotspot Crown Bar, where his good friend Brittany Snow was celebrating her 24th birthday, an eyewitness tells HollywoodLife.com. Though plenty of alcohol was offered to him, Zac told pals he wasn’t drinking because he had just bought a brand new Audi and never drank and drove. Good for you, Zac! More people should follow your example.
Also spotted at Brittany’s party were Vanessa Hudgens, Kellan Lutz, Seth MacFarlane, and cute couple Jessica Stroup and Dustin Milligan. Everybody sang “Happy Birthday” to Brittany, and it sounds like it was just a really fun night out. [Source]
Although presenter Zac Efron attended the Oscars solo, the “High School Musical” hottie is not on the market, ladies.
“I’m meeting up with Vanessa [Hudgens] at Vanity Fair,” he explained to me of her absence during the Governors Ball.
When I asked if the twosome would be attending E!’s own Oscar afterparty at Drai’s, Zac admitted he didn’t know what their party plans were post-VF because his lady is in charge of that…
“I leave all the planning up to her,” he said. “She RSVPed to all the parties for us.”
While attending the star-studded soiree, Zac couldn’t wait to rub elbows with “Hurt Locker” star Jeremy Renner. He was quick to congratulate Jeremy, as well as producer Greg Shapiro, who was proudly clutching his statue. [Source]
As you have probably noticed, the photo gallery was hacked ealier today. However, my host fixed this issue and Efron Pictures has been fully restored. Sorry for the inconvenience. Enjoy browsing +40,000 images of Zac Efron!
Sometimes it takes a very personal event to inspire us to really make a difference. This seems to be the case for Zac Efron, who is taking a serious, yet fun, stand against cancer with his cousin and cancer survivor, Emily Hobson. Zac Gives Back supports i2Y – I’m Too Young for This Cancer Foundation. The nonprofit exists to educate and empower young adult cancer patients so they can access the most effective and age-appropriate resources out there.
Hobson, a huge supporter of i2Y, gave Efron a few wristbands and he started wearing one. A few weeks later Matthew Zachary, cancer survivor and i2Y founder, received a photo of the “High School Musical” star and his cousin “giving cancer the bird.” The catchphrase has since become the motto for Stupid Cancer, a campaign which calls for a TwitPic challenge. How to play? Gather as many Zac Efron fans as possible, make sure they’re all wearing Stupid Cancer wristbands, flip a collective bird, say cheese and submit the evidence. You’ve got until April 1, 2010 to do it, so get going. Prizes will go to the top three organizers.
If only a fraction of Zac fans and Twitter followers partake in this irreverent for a good cause event, some serious dough will be raised – and it’s surely needed. Each year, nearly 70,000 young adults are diagnosed with cancer, and roughly 10,000 die annually. Over the past 30 years, this age group (15-39) has seen the greatest increase of incidence. Not OK!
But Zac Gives Back isn’t Efron’s first philanthropic endeavor. The avid surfer often supports the surf community’s fund raising efforts. Earlier this year he went Down Under to host an Oakley’s Learn to Ride surf lesson, benefiting the OneSight Foundation. And, this past summer, he contributed to PacSun Pipeline To A Cure for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
From where we stand this week, (which is of course behind a raised middle finger) Zac is looking pretty good – inside and out. [Source]
