Zac Efron was left squirming in his underwear when Nicole Kidman caught him off guard by asking him to dance during their shoot for “The Paperboy.”
The actor was bracing himself to deliver an emotional scene in the erotic thriller, and was stunned when his co-star suggested they dance while he was wearing nothing but a pair of tight, white briefs.
However, Efron admits sharing a dance with the actress in the rain was a career highlight.
He tells Ellen DeGeneres, “Nicole is so amazing to work with but she’s also very improvisational and once she finds the character she can sort of maneuver in and out of the lines. You never know what to expect. This was supposed to be a very serious scene. It was sort of an intense dramatic moment for me.”
“So I was very prepared to give my all in a dramatic moment and before I knew it music starts to turn up around me and she kind of looks at me and says, ‘Do you want to dance?’ And they’re still rolling so I can’t really say cut! And before I knew it we were improvising an entire dance in the rain. It’s one of my favorite scenes in the movie.”
“That is one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. It is the day I think I became a man.” [Source]
If he could vote for anything, Jonah Hill would want dogs to pick up his poop with a plastic bag — just to see how they’d like it. That wish is among the ridiculous requests celebrities make in a video released Monday to encourage voter turnout.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire lead a group of celebrities in Vote4Stuff, a non-partisan campaign which includes Zac Efron, Selena Gomez, Jonah Hill, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Sarah Silverman and Ellen DeGeneres who joke about voting for, well, stuff. And by ‘stuff’ they mean anything.
Sarah Silverman wants, “gays in the military… exclusively.”
Zac Efron would, “vote to keep tigers out of schools.” And Selena Gomez vows she would “vote for anything that Zac Efron says.”
Ellen requests that “women should have the right to vote,” before pausing and looking off-camera and asking, “They do? Okay, well that’s good.”
She also wants to abolish the two main party colors. “I would not have red and blue states. I would have fuchsia and seafoam — prettier.”
After the jokes end, the cast gets serious, reminding voters there’s an easy way to have a voice on a lot of important issues and raise awareness on issues including jobs, marriage equality, climate change, foreign policy, immigration, workers’ rights, taxes, education.
In addition to emphasizing the importance of voting, the video ends with a call to action, asking people to submit a video (30 seconds or less) describing what’s important to them. The best tweets, pictures, and videos will be incorporated into the campaign this month.
MTV News is on the ground in Denver for the first of three presidential debates. As the candidates are doing last minute preparations before tonight, star power may also play an important role in November’s outcome, by tapping into the 45 million eligible young voters.
DiCaprio recently told the Associated Press that “we are using the power of social media… to incite bipartisan conversation around real issues, encourage registration and voting in November.” The campaign follows the 2008 campaign “Don’t Vote,” which led to over 800,000 young people to register — a number they hope to top this year. Zac Efron was left terrified on the set of his new movie “The Paperboy” by co-star Nicole Kidman’s sex appeal. The former “High School Musical” star admits he was looking for a project with depth and risk – and he found it in abundance in Lee Daniels’ steamy new film.
The actor admits he “enjoyed” being seduced by the Moulin Rouge actress, 45, during one of their romps. But there was one explicit scene, which also involved co-star John Cusack, that left him stunned. Zac’s Jack Jansen watches on as co-star John’s character does a sex act in his underwear after being turned on by Nicole’s character Charlotte Bless.
The young star tells Black Book magazine it was a very intense shoot: “That was the first day of filming and Nicole just completely went for it. She was telling everyone ‘I’m bringing my A-game. What do you have?’ I’ve never been so scared in my life, but that moment affirmed this movie was everything I set out to do.”
Zac has previously told how spending so much time in his underpants during filming took him out of his comfort zone – but added that it was worth it.
He said: “The love scenes with Nicole Kidman were the highlight of my life. Every scene felt like I was in Moulin Rouge.”
The flick – which has no UK release date yet – is an adaptation of Pete Dexter’s novel of the same name. Matthew McConaughey and songbird Macy Gray also appear in it. [Source]
Filipino fans of Hollywood actor Zac Efron need not wait any longer as he has finally arrived in the country for his activities as the latest endorser of a local clothing brand and a bit of R&R.
An ABS-CBNNews.com article posted on Sept. 26 reported that Efron arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport “around noon” today with his dad David, manager Jason Barrett, and Hollywood photographer Darren Tieste.
“Well, first of all this trip is an amazing, amazing excuse to go to the Philippines. I have always wanted to visit the Philippines. My dad, who has been to your country several times, has been telling me great stories about it,” the star of the popular “High School Musical” films was quoted to have said.
As soon as the actor landed at the airport, he was reportedly transferred to a private plane en route to Legazpi City in Albay. Efron and his entourage will be staying for “a brief vacation” at the posh Misibis Bay Resorts “as personal guest[s] of Bicolano tycoon Zaldy Co.”
On Saturday evening, Efron will meet his local supporters via a fan conference set by Penshoppe at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Efron is the latest prized addition to Penshoppe’s “All Stars” campaign. The past year saw the brand unveil its A-list lineup of endorsers in succession, beginning with Thai actor Mario Maurer, followed by “Gossip Girl” stars Ed Westwick and Leighton Meester, and most recently, “The Vampire Diaries” lead Ian Somerhalder.
