To showcase moments of artistic realization and inspiration, Ovation, the only multi-platform network dedicated to arts culture, is launching a series of interstitial segments featuring stories from actors, musicians, authors and artists of all ages called “Every Big Artist Starts Small.” The series of spots will be featured throughout the programming day and begin airing May 16.

The segments are created and produced by Ovation as part of the network’s overall mission to support and encourage the next generation of artists. Each artist featured tells a personal story about his or her big break, a special mentor or teacher, or a moment when they knew they wanted to pursue a career in the arts. Among those who will be featured are:

• Chuck Close,
• Isabelle Furhman,
• Jeff Koons,
• Morgan Spurlock,
• Ed Norton,

Over the past four years, Ovation’s support of the arts has been unprecedented for a television network. The company has donated over $10 million to support cultural institutions, individual artists and arts education. Included in that support is the creation and airing of national public service announcements (PSAs) for arts institutions and arts education, including the Harlem School of the Arts, the 92nd Street Y, the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers, among many others.

Saturday night’s excursion was nothing more than the gorgeous duo grabbing a bite to eat with a group of mutual friends. Zac Efron and Joe Jonas – and their entourages – shared a prime table during a vaudeville-inspired performance by Beacher’s Madhouse at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. The guys greeted each other, then basically stuck to themselves and their own group of friends. Jonas sipped a cocktail with his pals – and occasionally snapped pictures with his phone. Ever since those Jasmine Villegas rumors began circulating in April, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber’s red hot teen romance had seemed to cool off. Now the “Monte Carlo” star opens up to Seventeen magazine about life and love.

“I don’t like hiding,” she admits of her relationship with the Bieb. “I do like to keep certain things to myself, but at the end of the day, I’m eighteen, and I’m going to fall in love. I’m going to hang out with people, and I’m going to explore myself, and I’m okay with that.”

With being open about her relationship comes a backlash of love-struck tweens all over the world. Gomez has been the target of jealous Beliebers everywhere, but when asked whether or not she could relate to the crazy fan crushes, she responds: “Are you kidding me? I’m still thinking Zac Efron’s my husband.”

At this point, we think Efron would be the only logical choice for a Bieber upgrade in the future, but Gomez still won’t go for it.
