The ‘High School Musical’ star – who has been dating her co-star in the Disney movie series for the last four years – admits she is grateful they started their careers together.

She said: “We got lucky because we started off together, so I think people like us because they fell in love with our characters. Right off the bat, we had a connection. I think everybody could see it. When we had our audition, they paired us together. And he was adorable. I mean, he wasn’t the guy that he is today. Like, he had a gap in his teeth. He was a whole different person.”

Despite the early chemistry between Vanessa and Zac, the 21-year-old actress-and-singer isn’t ready to take their relationship to the next level and move in with the ’17 Again’ star.

She added to America’s Glamour magazine: “No. I mean, maybe. Maybe house-hunting for houses on our own. I mean. Which, I’m not. And he’s not, at the moment. So no. No. I just bought my house two years ago, and I adore it.” [Source]

The 22-year-old actor explained about the film, “We [Charlie and I] saw each other for every day [while making the movie] for so long, we really became brothers, pretty much. Every movie has its challenges. This was challenging on an emotional level and really you just have to find that connection with something real that you can relate to.”

When asked what people would be surprised to know about his costar, Charlie replied, “Um, he’s really down to earth.”

Based on an acclaimed novel, ‘Charlie St. Cloud’ (in theaters July 30) finds Zac as the title character, a young man who struggles to get over the loss of his younger brother Sammy (Tahan) when tragedy strikes. In order to cope with Sammy’s death, Charlie retreats into a fantasy world in which they play catch and share conversations about life. Can Charlie balance his fantasy world and the real world – and ever really let Sammy go?

Regarding his move into more serious, dramatic territory, Zac says, “Every movie has its challenges. This was challenging on an emotional level and really you just have to find that connection with something real that you can relate to, and that for me was my [own] little brother.” [Source]

Zac Efron often goes out undercover! The Hollywood heartthrob says he likes grow a mustache so he can walk around unnoticed when he’s out in public.

“I wanted to go to the Coachella music festival, be in the crowd, and see the bands without any VIP bull,” he said. “So I grew a kind of prepubescent mustache, and nobody recognized me. It was so liberating, and all it took was that!”

Efron – who’s dating former costar Vanessa Hudgens – revealed last year that he can’t handle the paparazzi.

“To be honest, I can’t handle the paparazzi,” he revealed. “They’re everywhere. One of them was in a dumpster trying to take my photo the other day. It was crazy! Another time, one was hanging off the back of a pick-up truck driving down a road. They think they’re being clever, but they’re not. I’d love to take a year off and travel the world under the radar. I would love to do it really low-key. I wouldn’t need to stay in fancy hotels or anything; I just want to explore – but I don’t know how I’d do it. Maybe I’d shave my head to try and go incognito? Yeah, that’s what I’d do.” [Source]
