At the film’s London premiere, Zac Efron talks about moving away from teen movies with tearjerker ‘Charlie St. Cloud’ and reveals his new found love of sailing.

Zac Efron celebrated the UK premiere of his new movie by dancing to 80s songs and partying with sexy new girl band Beach Girl5 at London’s exclusive Mahiki nightclub.

The 22-year-old actor is currently in London promoting his latest film ‘Charlie St. Cloud’ and after thrilling his fans on the red carpet yesterday (16.09.10), Zac decided to let his hair down by dancing to some classic 80s songs at London’s exclusive Mahiki nightclub with new pop group Beach Girl5.

Speaking at designer Bunmi Koko’s show at London Fashion Week, band member Brooke Adams – who is good friends with Zac’s girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens – exclusively told BANG Showbiz: “We’re over in London for five weeks and we love it here. Last night we got to go partying with Zac after the premiere of his movie as I’m really good friends with him and Vanessa so he invited us to go out with him. We went to Mahiki and had such a great time. We danced to some 80s music and just had fun, but we’re all a little delicate today! And Zac just loved all of the other girls and he really likes our music as well.”

Brooke – who is joined in the group by Mandy Jiroux, Dominique Domingo, Noreen Juliano, and Laura New – also revealed she expects to be bridesmaid when Zac and Vanessa eventually get married, although she doesn’t think it will be time soon.

She said: “I’d love to be part of the wedding party but I don’t think they will be getting married soon as they’re both so young. But they are really happy together and they’ve been an item for over five years, which is a long time. I think they’re meant to be though and they’re two of the nicest people you could meet.”

Beach Girl5 are currently on a tour of the UK before returning to their native America and will release their debut single in January. [Source]

As JJJ reports, Zac held a giant cookie which was the gift from a charity (Young Wings). It is a platform for mourning and traumatized children and young people, who have lost a parent or someone close to them. Two winners from an online auction saw the movie and attended the after party.

Zac Efron was obsessed with Tyra Banks when he was a teenager. The actor, who is in a long-term relationship with his “High School Musical” co-star Vanessa Hudgens, used to have such a big crush on the model-turned-TV star he would spend hours just staring at a poster of her he had stuck to his ceiling.

He explained to LOOK magazine: “When I was younger I used to lie on my bed and look up at a poster of Tyra Banks on my ceiling. She was in the Victoria’s Secret catalogues that my mum used to get and I thought she was the most gorgeous thing in the world. I love girls with dark features, but when I went to Sweden I saw the most incredible natural blondes that I’ve ever seen.”

The 22-year-old Hollywood hunk also revealed he likes to try and be romantic with Hudgens, 21, and enjoys cooking for her even though he isn’t great in the kitchen.

He said: “I’m improvisational when it comes to romance. I’m not a gifted chef but I made lasagne a couple of nights ago and it was good! I like to go out for dinner or to the movies as well.” [Source]

“High School Musical” star Zac Efron has said he is an emotional guy. The 22 year-old told UK’s Look magazine: “I cried at ‘Toy Story 3,’ it was embarrassing.”

Efron, who is dating actress Vanessa Hudgens, 21, also admits he used to be a geek. He said: “I wasn’t a heartthrob at school, I was a geek. I was a gawky 17 year-old. A lanky, skinny, awkward kid.”

Although Efron has become a worldwide heartthrob, his pals still don’t see him that way. He said: “They treat me the way they always did. If I was arrogant towards them they would kick my ass.” [Source]
